At Beeler Construction, we are committed to creating safe environments that reflect our respect and appreciation for our dedicated employees, valued subcontractors, and loyal clients. By fostering a culture of safety in all aspects of our company, we aim to demonstrate our devotion to the health and happiness of our team while delivering reliable, secure services to our clients.
On job sites, our team members equip themselves with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This equipment protects wearers from injury or exposure to hazards that can cause illness or injury. PPE includes hard hats, safety glasses, proper work clothes, and boots 100% of the time. In addition, high visibility clothing, gloves, hearing protection, and other situation-specific equipment is utilized.
Construction activities are associated with inherent risks, and thus for each project we undertake, we create site-specific safety plans and audits. These strategies may involve identifying potential hazards and creating action steps for emergencies. We also conduct daily safety check-ins on job sites to ensure our teams are on the same page and aware of any changing requirements.
For many of our clients, especially those in the healthcare industry, safeguarding the safety of their spaces during construction is vitally important. We make regular use of negative air temporary dust wall systems with HEPA filtration, air monitoring devices, noise barriers, and other measures to protect areas that need to remain sterile, healthy, and productive.
With safety as a mindset and not just a task on a to-do list, at Beeler Construction, we conduct our daily business using safe work practices. This may be as simple as keeping a worksite clean and organized to prevent slips, trips, and falls. A safety philosophy also entails regular inspections and maintenance of tools and equipment.
“Safety at Beeler Construction is integral in everything that we do – beginning with our purpose, carrying through to our core values, and as a key component to maintaining our momentum on the flywheel. We work to maintain it and integrate it deeper into our culture each day.” says Nick Gudex, Safety/ Field Operations Director at Beeler. “We want every person to go home the same or better than when they started every day.”
To maintain—and continually improve—our commitment to safety, we have weekly toolbox talks and perform regular site inspections—both internally and utilizing our partners, along with 3rd-party inspections on our job sites. From a training perspective, we conduct quarterly company-wide safety meetings. We also provide regular safety training sessions for our employees on various topics. Such training may involve team members obtaining necessary certification for specialized tasks, like operating heavy machinery or handling hazardous materials.
By prioritizing safety at Beeler Construction, we are living out our purpose for our team while providing our clients with peace of mind—knowing that they will receive quality workmanship without incidents or delays.
