Internal Accountant

About the Job

In this role you will work closely with project managers and other team members to accurately account for the revenue and expenses of each project. You will also collaborate with the CFO to help maintain accurate monthly financial statements.

Education / Experience

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA license not required)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience preferably working with contractors
- Experience in Sage 100 contractor would benefit but not required

Computer Skills

- Sage Contractor 100 (project accounting)
- Bluebeam (PDF editing)

Core Responsibilities / Duties

- Process customer Invoices
- Maintain accounts receivable balances
- Review ACH deposits and reconcile amounts to outstanding receivable balances
- Oversee the Accounts Payable process
- Prepare quarterly and annual payroll reports
- Record numerous monthly transactions to generate a monthly financial statement
- Issue change orders to owners and subcontractors
- Maintain notary status
- Complete project over/under reports and meet with CFO to discuss balances
- Crossed trained for payroll entry
- Think outside the box
- Create efficiencies within the accounting department
- Be the direct report to other accounting staff
- Report directly to CFO
- Oversee/manage project accounting
- Train and oversee new accounting staff
